Meet the Artist

Dawn Jenks

Dawn has been crocheting for over thirty years after she was taught at the age of four by her grandmother. When she was thirteen, Dawn’s mother brought her home a crochet pattern for a poinsettia afghan she liked. It was at this time that Dawn taught herself how to successfully read and interpret crochet patterns.

Before the internet Dawn would find patterns at crafts stores and in magazines to crochet afghans and other creations. It has likely been an underappreciated privilege of her children and grandchildren to be able to request any specific piece of doll clothing, toy, or accessory and have their imagination given life… often overnight while they slept.

Do not be surprised to find that each visit to this site will feature an ever-changing and wide variety of creations. Dawn has always preferred to try new kinds of projects and is always excited to share her latest vision or give life to the ideas others share.

Dawn and her husband, Bill, have been married for over thirty five years and have five children and four grandchildren. They enjoy traveling, spending time with their friends and families, and are strong advocates for people with Down’s Syndrome, especially adults.
